Lodgement dates don't wait for a quiet week.

Most owners know a BAS is coming. The hard part is remembering exactly when, in the middle of quoting jobs, paying staff and chasing invoices.

Bookkeepers have the opposite problem. They look after many clients, each with its own lodgement cycle, and a date kept in one person's head or one spreadsheet tab is a date that can slip.

Payday super adds another rhythm for anyone with employees. Late lodgement can bring ATO penalties and interest, and a call to your agent that nobody enjoys making.

Three kinds of due date, and how we remind you about each

Pick the obligation you're tracking. Each tab covers what it is, who it applies to and how the reminder works.

BAS

The business activity statement is the form a GST-registered business uses to report GST and, where they apply, amounts like PAYG withholding and PAYG instalments. Depending on your setup you lodge monthly, quarterly or annually. With the Compliance Calendar, we send a BAS due date reminder ahead of each lodgement, and the date also sits in your calendar feed. Check the date for your cycle on our due-dates page or with the ATO.

Payday super

Payday super is the change that means employers pay super guarantee contributions at the same time as wages, not once a quarter. It applies to any business that pays employees and owes them super. The Compliance Calendar adds payday super to your reminders so the change doesn't catch your pay process out. Our payday super guide explains it, and the ATO confirms when and how it applies to you.

Other compliance dates

Beyond BAS and super, a business can have other lodgement and payment dates through the year. Which ones apply depends on how it is set up. The Compliance Calendar sends reminders for these too, so the once-a-year dates get the same nudge as the regular ones. Our due-dates page lists every date the calendar carries.

Add the due-date calendar feed to Google or Outlook

It takes a few minutes, and the dates then sit next to your jobs and appointments.

  1. Start a free account

Sign up with Alert My Business. The national due-date calendar and its feed come with the free plan.

  2. Copy your calendar feed link

Open the due-date calendar in your account and copy the calendar feed link.

  3. Google Calendar: add from URL

On a computer, open Google Calendar, select the plus sign next to Other calendars, choose From URL, paste the link and add the calendar.

  4. Outlook: subscribe from web

In Outlook on the web, choose Add calendar, then Subscribe from web. Paste the link, name it something like Tax due dates, and import it.

  5. Check it on your phone

The feed syncs to the Google Calendar or Outlook app. Calendar apps refresh subscribed feeds on their own schedule, so changes can take a little while to show.

  6. Add reminders when ready

Turn on the Compliance Calendar add-on when you want BAS, payday super and other reminders sent to you, not just dates in a calendar.

Questions about BAS due date reminders

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BAS due date reminder free?
The national due-date calendar and its calendar feed are free on every account. Reminders for BAS, payday super and other dates come with the Compliance Calendar add-on. Add-ons start from a few dollars a month, and current prices are on our pricing page.
Does Alert My Business lodge my BAS?
No. We remind you that a due date is coming. You still lodge through ATO online services, your accounting software, or your registered tax or BAS agent.
Why don't you list the due dates on this page?
Dates change, and some depend on your lodgement cycle or whether you use a tax or BAS agent. Our due-dates page carries the current calendar, and the ATO website at ato.gov.au is the official source.
Can a bookkeeper use this for several clients?
Yes. Our page for accountants and bookkeepers explains how to watch client businesses, including their due dates, from your own account.
Does a reminder replace my accountant's advice?
No. A reminder tells you a date is coming and what to do next. Your tax agent or the ATO can tell you which obligations apply to your business and how to meet them.
