What is a Webhook?
An automatic message one system sends to another when something happens, like a payment received.
A webhook is a push notification between programs: Stripe tells your shop a payment succeeded; we tell your Slack channel an alert fired. If the receiving side is down, events queue or are lost.
Our webhooks are signed so your systems can verify they came from us.
What to do
- Give each webhook a test button and press it after any change.
- Verify the signature header before trusting a webhook.
